Comic Box Reviews Darkness/Pitt #3 (in French)
Les morts-vivants ont la côte et si techniquement les « infectés » vus ici ne sont pas des zombies, ils ont une bonne partie de leurs attributs. N’empêche, ce n’est pas parce que c’est « à la mode » que l’utilisation de cette menace trouve ici toute sa raison d’être mais bien parce que son apathie laisse le champ libre aux caractères bien trempés de Jackie Estacado et de Pitt. Et niveau gouaille, ces deux-là, s’aimant à peu près autant que l’eau et le feu, se chargent de vous remplir un crossover. Au point même qu’on se dit qu’on en aurait bien repris un ou deux épisodes du même cru. Le dessin de Dale Keown est excellent et fidèle à ses promesses (ceux qui apprécient le travail de l’artiste seront donc heureux de le retrouver en grande forme) mais il ne faudrait pas pour autant sous-estimer le travail du scénariste Paul Jenkins.

ComicNewsi Reviews Darkness/Pitt #3

Pitt is a comic I never really had a chance to get into back in the 90's, and neither was the Darkness. I remember flipping through whatever issues were on display at the grocery store, thinking how cool it was that these comics had blood and curse words (I was young, alright). But like the rest of Image's library at the time (most notably Spawn), it was not “mother-approved.” But now I'm a grown man and drink, curse, stay up late at night, and read whatever comic I want. Take that, mom!
And that brings us to The Darkness/Pitt #3, published by Top Cow, written by Paul Jenkins and drawn by Dale Keown. Unfortunately I missed the first 2 issues and had to play catch up, but the introduction gives you the gist of it. I'm sure I missed a body count along the way, but such is life (no pun intended). The recap gives you what you need to know about the characters' back story and the mess they currently find themselves in. Apparently an alien virus has turned people into zombies who are surrounding our protagonists Jackie Estacado (aka the Darkness), the Pitt, and Timmy (Pitt's genetic half brother). Violence and banter ensue, followed by an impressive display of power from Timmy.
Whether you're a fan of the Darkness, Pitt, or both, you should definitely check this out. It has zombies; everyone loves zombies. They're the new pirates. And most importantly, coming in on the third and final issue of this story, I did not feel lost or confused about what was going on. Yes, I do feel like I'm missing out by not reading the first two issues (they will be mine), but after the recap it all made sense to me and was easy to understand.

Popculture Zoo Previews The Darkness/Pitt #3
To put things in the parlance of Hollywood, Darkeness/Pitt #3 was like Tango and Cash meets My Two Dads. To put it in more geek-friendly terms, it was both radically tubular and grody to the max. Wait, those were 1980’s terms. Whatevah! The point is, if you’ve picked up this mini so far you dare not miss the final chapter! And if you haven’t been getting the previous two issue, you are missing one of the best written and drawn books of the year. It’s Dale Keown drawing Pitt for chrissakes, how can you not be getting this? Throw in Paul Jenkins absurdly witty dialogue and more zombie carnage than you can shake George Romero at and this book breaks down the walls of epicness. I’ve run out of ill-placed metaphors and similes, so I’ll just say BUY THIS BOOK! Also, check out the preview below. Thanks!

Project Fanboy Reviews Darkness/Pitt #3

This book is a gory, slithery, gooey, gross out....and its a heck of a lot of fun. The Darkness/Pitt #3 finds Jackie Estacado, Pitt, and the young and powerful Timmy on the run with a giant morphing mass of bodies called The Infected chasing them down. The book, written by Paul Jenkins, has just the right blend of action, comedy, and horrorfied visuals to make it a real good read. His pacing is near perfect and the comic moves just as quick as the infected. He creates a real interesting ambivalent relationship between the two title characters that is held together by a young and bright and super powerful nine year old. Its the kind of ridiculousness that makes for great comics. His dialogue is good (although the voice-over bits are a bit cliched) and even though its the third issue of the series you wouldn't really know it as it's fairly engrossing all on its own.

Review: The Darkness/Pitt #2
Where The Pitt worked best was in the contrast between it’s two protagonists, the cheeky psychic Timmy and his half brother the hulking humourless Pitt. Where the The Darkness/Pitt works is by turning Timmy into the peanut gallery and let the contrast increase between the dour Pitt and the cocky Ennis-created-and-still enthused Jackie Estrada who just can’t take this chain-laden beast seriously, even when eviscerated bodies are raining down.
Omnicomic reviews The Darkness/Pitt #2
The Darkness/Pitt #2 is the second of three in the series and definitely does more in the way of setting up an epic finale than anything. If you haven't read the first issue then really this review won't do you any good (and the first issue is free to read on comiXology). If you have read it and want to know if Tim, Pitt and Jackie spend the evening together drinking tea and regaling each others with tales of heroics then read on for the review.

Paul Jenkins may have accidentally found himself working as a comic book creator, but he certainly knows how to make an accident become a successful career. The series was in development for five years and the publisher had held back from release until all principal work on it had been completed. Comicvine reviews The Darkness/Pitt #1
Simply put, this was a fun comic. I've said it before, Top Cow really does a great job with the crossovers. They're not forced confrontations that has two characters fighting against each other. It's going to be really interesting to see how Jackie carries himself in Pitt's world against the Creed. I can't tell you how long I've waited to read more about Pitt. Having Jackie join him is just going to make the trip that much more enjoyable.
