Multiversity Comics Reviews Angelus #3
After an issue or two of set up, explaining the new status quo to new readers (something writer Ron Marz does pretty well, I might add.) We finally had a fight between the two opposing forces in nature, the Angelus and the Darkness. The interesting dichotomy here is that I learned (through research, obviously) is that before, the Angelus was an antagonist for the Darkness, but here it’s the opposite, and our hero and villain roles have in a sense been reversed. We see a more sympathetic Angelus and a Jackie Estacado that’s more of a dick than anything. I really enjoyed the emotional connections placed throughout the book, giving us a pretty clear (albeit relatively small) set of supporting characters to attach Dani to life as we know it in New Orleans.
