When I heard about Top Cow’s plan to have a “Pilot Season,” of a series of one-shots featuring established Top Cow characters, with the fans choosing two of the one-shots to be made into ongoing series, I thought the idea of a Pilot Season was absolutely brilliant, but the use of established characters seemed a bit odd, as it is unlikely that ANY of these characters can seriously sustain their own series (even with some of the very cool creative teams they’ve lined up), or else they’d probably have been GIVEN one already.
I thought it would be much cooler to do the same idea with NEW characters, as there is a better chance of hitting pay dirt with new characters.
And guess what? That’s exactly what Top Cow is planning on doing.
A second Pilot Season, this time with NEW characters.
