Summit Ramps Up with 'Alibi'
In the glow of the success of “New Moon,” Summit is ramping up its development slate with projects that couldn’t be further from vampire-romance territory.
The company is developing a feature version of the Top Cow comic book “Alibi,” tapping John Hlavin to pen the adaptation to be produced by Mandeville’s David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman. I
The deal is in the early stages. The “Alibi” producers’ deals are in negotiations.
“Alibi,” published last year, centers on a well-known socialite whose public presence establishes a perfect cover for the covert activity of his secret twin brother, a government assassin. The comic was created by Top Cow president and COO Matt Hawkins and Michael Renegar, written by Joshua Hale Fialkov and illustrated by Jeremy Haun.
Top Cow CEO and founder Marc Silverstri and Hawkins are executive producing. Mandeville’s David Manpearl also is exec producing. ICM packaged the deal, bringing the producers together.
