Cosmic Book News Reviews Darkness #82

Once a naysayer, Cosmic Book News has tried the forbidden fruit and now can't resist Top Cow titles.

CBN took some time to review Darkness #82, out in stores last week, and here is what they had to say:

I have to admit it, I am so sorry I have just kept my distance from Top Cow Books in the past, but that has changed thanks to Angelus #1 and The Darkness #82.

It is a sweet, sweet book.

The Darkness is good old fashioned comic book fun. And it had a handful of witty lines that made me laugh (ie. a smuggler admitted he could sneak gay porn into North Korea's capital and whiskey into Mecca).

And the art by Michael Broussard was nicely done. He has a "1990s early Image" feel without it being overwhelming and overhyped (ie. Rob Liefield).

Between this and Angelus, I think DC and Marvel fans who are overwhelmed by "maxi-series" will like this.

As I said, The Darkness #38 was good old fashioned comic book fun and worth the cover price.
