Ron Marz Heading to ComiCONN



ComiCONN is very proud to announce that comic creator and Top Cow Productions exclusive writer Ron Marz will be attending the show. Look for the ComiCONN exclusive Magdalena #1 by Top Cow Productions at ComiCONN, written by Mr. Marz. Mr. Marz will also be joined by artist Matthew Dow Smith, who worked on the CW TV series comic book Supernatural: Origins. Also, don't forget that the Magdalena #1 variant cover artists Jack Purcell and Thomas Chu will both be attending the show. Get the book signed!!!

Witchblade #131 & Albany Comicon covered by Albany's Times Union



This is their fourth Albany Comic Con– they average two a year. And each one gets bigger than the last. Matt tells me they’ve put more time and resources than ever into this one.

One impressive new offering is their exclusive custom variant cover for WitchBlade issue #131. Only 250 copies of this version of the comic have been printed. WitchBlade is currently written by Ron Marz who’s pretty close to local and the variant cover art is by Matthew Dow Smith from Saratoga. Both Marz and Smith will be attending the Con so it shouldn’t be hard to get your copy autographed.

Top Cow Shows Off Albany Comic Con Witchblade Variant Cover



Just in time for Halloween, Top Cow will be offering the Ron Marz/Matthew Dow Smith Albany Comic Con Witchblade #131 variant this weekend. Marz will be signing at the convention and talking to fans about what will happen next following the War of the Witchblades storyarc. Smith will also be attending the show to sign this cover for fans.

Plan Ahead: Albany Comic Con



The Albany Comic Con will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Holiday Inn on Wolf Road and will feature comics, toys, collectibles, original artwork and a Halloween costume contest.

The one-of-a-kind variant cover of Witchblade No. 131, created exclusively for the convention by local comic book professionals, Ron Marz who wrote it, and Matthew Dow Smith, who created the cover art, will be featured. The creators will sign their work at the event.

Blog@Newsarama Shows You How to Con on A Budget: Albany Comic Con 2009 Edition



Now these are some interesting numbers. One day. Six hours. Only $3 to get in and grade 10 guests. The Albany Comic Con is in its fourth year and looks brighter each time. This year, guests include Jamal Igle, Dennis Calero, Herb Trimpe, Joe Sinnott, and Ron Marz.

In addition to the great guests, there’s a “day after” Halloween Costume Contest as well as the chance to pick up the Witchblade #131 with the exclusive cover done by Matthew Dow Smith (pictured left).
