Newsarama interviews Kenneth Rocafort

The Puerto Rican native Kenneth Rocafort broke into comics in the small press arena, and that's where Top Cow took notice of him. After a series of tryouts and pin-ups, Top Cow put him in the daunting assignment of doing a fill-in issue of the Marc Silvestri-illustrated Hunter-Killer Series. Excelling at the trial by fire, Rocafort went to work later on Paul Dini's Madame Mirage series and is now one of Top Cow's star pencillers. READ MORE.

The Quarter Bin reviews THE DARKNESS #5

Previously in The Darkness, Jackie was being held by a small resistance group in Sierra Muñoz who are very unhappy with the drug cartel he has created, since it has left many a junkie in its wake. While being forced to help them with a bomb strapped to his chest, Jackie comes across former lover Elle, who is quite pregnant. “What can I say? Hasn’t been the best year for me and family planning issues.” READ MORE.

Girls Entertainment Network reviews DRAGON PRINCE #1

Top Cow was nice enough to send us over a preview of Dragon Prince – a new limited series that comes directly from the imagination of Witchblade writer Ron Marz and Amazing Spider-Man scribe Jeff Johnson. Add pencils by Lee Moder (First Born: Aftermath) and guest star covers by artists such as Stjepan Sejic, David Finch, Brandon Peterson, David Petersen and Ryan Sook, and you have a formula for a stellar comic. CBR reviews DRAGON PRINCE #1

As a reviewer for CBR, I try my very best to look for some new stuff every now and again. When I saw Lee Moder was coming back (or at least when I discovered Moder was on my radar again) I decided to look a little deeper. Then I learned that he was working on "Dragon Prince" with Ron Marz. "I've enjoyed some Marz tales before. I'll give it a go." Add in the fact that this book is intended to be an all ages read, and I was hooked. Well, hooked enough to review the first issue at the very least. READ MORE.

Comic Vine reviews DRAGON PRINCE #1

Whenever I see a new comic series I always ask, do we need another new character? What is refreshing about Ron Marz's Dragon Prince is we're all on board at the beginning. It's nice to be able to read a comic and not have to worry about years of history and continuity. We are introduced to Aaron Chiang. He's your typical teenager until he discovers his destiny. Think young Peter Parker but with a dragon instead of a spider.

Ron Marz talks DRAGON PRINCE on MySpace Comic Books

What are the nuts and bolts of DRAGON PRINCE?

RON MARZ: It's something a little different for me, and something a little different for Top Cow. DRAGON PRINCE is a modern fantasy story, set in the here and now. It's about a 13-year-old boy named Aaron Chiang whose heritage is American on his mother's side and Chinese on his deceased father's side. So Aaron has never quite fit in with either group. But then he finds out the truth of his heritage: his father was a shape-shifting dragon, the last dragon on Earth, before he was hunted down by a secret society of wizards. Now that Aaron is coming of age, these wizards are turning their attention toward him. So it's got fantasy elements, it's got coming-of-age elements. It's an all-ages story, but I think when people hear "all ages" they immediately assume it's for kids. But all ages really means ALL ages -- kids, adults, anybody. It's four issues, written by me and drawn by Lee Moder, first issue out September 10. READ MORE.
