FRESHMEN: SUMMER VACATION SPECIAL REVIEW

Its been a while since Top Cow released a new Freshmen comic, and its nice to see as its definitely an interesting new property that I'd love to see more of. The first two series were really well done, very enjoyable, and I'd love to see more of the kids and their stories. Its clear that Sterbakov loves his kids too, and has plenty more stories to tell with them, especially from this one-shot. The plot of this one-shot is fairly simple, based on the format, but its also a lot of fun, with some surprising depth and characterization. From the beginning, its the atmosphere, sense of humor and characterization which Sterbakov has utilized to make this a compelling series to read, and this one-shot is no different. It ends on a somewhat sombre note, but its an appropriate one, especially after the last two series and now this one-shot.
